Ive seen some silly trade rules in signatures. Unless you and I talk about it in PM, and we agree- then Im not obligated to anything. Its nice if you have it there for a general guideline on how you prefer to make deals- but its not set in stone. There is no contract to do things that way because I contact you for a potential trade. If you disagree- then read my signature.

I'll be expecting your package in the mail.

There will shortly be an amendment to the official Bartertown rules stipulating that "trade rules" (or guidelines, or recommendations, or any other term of similar definition) posted in a member's signature are NOT binding, whose violation are NOT sufficient grounds for posting a Backout or BTR. Posting negative feedback based on "signature rules" violations will be disallowed.

There's just too much potential for abuse...so anyone who reads Starslayer's signature gets an official Lin "Get Out of Jail Free Card" for having to follow Starslayer's guidelines. Congratulations, you've all just used that card. Sorry, Starslayer.

My trade rules. If you Pm me, answer any thread I post in, read a thread I've posted in, or read this now- you agree to the following:
1) You will send me all the money in your account Oddly enough, it's the same as I've already sent you. : )
2) You will send me all your gaming items & miniatures for free. I don't need to send them to "me." I already have them.
3) You will address me as Master. Hes, master(baiter).
4) You will name your children after me. Either Starslayer Jr. or Starslayeretta will do fine. If I have any more, it's a deal.
5) You will tattoo "Starslayer Rules!!" on your buttocks. Who says I already hadn't?

See how stupid trade rules in signatures are?!

To comment on Lin's comment about the rules being changed, *somewhere* in the forums, we've already covered that sig lines, due to their ability to be changed on a moment's notice, are not enforceable. Anything in your sig line that you want included as part of the trade must be QUOTED and AGREED UPON by your trade partner, and (and anyone else affected ).

So, the rule addendum will be a formality.
