Whenever I'm online and I see someone else online that I'm corresponding with I open the chat to see if there in. They never are. In fact no one else ever is either. Seems like it would be a really handy tool if more people than me used it.

So is it just me or does anyone else check chat?

It used to be used a bit. I don't recall it seeing much use in a long time though.

Live chat...right beside post a reference tab.

IIRC, Btown's had a chat since we went to phpbb (or shortly thereafter, at least).
In bygone days, it was utilized extensively, but it was considered bad form to go in there just to chat. People who went in there weren't looking for the "Hi, guys! What's up?" messages. Oh, no. LOL They wanted to deal!

I pop in once or twice a week to see who's there and just say "Hi" if I see someone I know.

I think I'll go say, "Hi," now, in fact.

I logged out of chat before posting that last post (@ 9:54 PM Central).
Weird that it showed me logging out at that time (it's not the hour difference. I get that. It's the 4 minutes).

Sorry, I just opened it up (for the first time ever) just to see if there was actually anyone there. Wasn't trying to duck anyone, just wasn't planning to stay online for long.

Oh no that's fine. I edited my post when I saw you comeback in. I just thought it was funny. I've done it enough except when no one was there.

I'm totally not computer savvy, but if I had to guess, I would say that when it's empty, the chat room updates it's status when the next user logs in, so it told IH that MM had left at the time when IH logged in, rather than the time when MM logged out.

And vice versa.
