Auction Forum Combination Proposal

Good Day,
I am proposing that all of the Auction Forums be combined into one forum (instead of the 4 we have now).
These forums aren’t in use that much (as of this writing there are 30 topics scattered among the 4 forums) and I believe combining them will help to streamline the site.
This tread is to get the general populations take on this change – whether it makes sense to make the change or to leave them as they are.
This is not to banter as to why we have them or the merits of removing them completely.
Please keep this in mind when you go to leave feedback for this proposal.
Thank you,

I'm for it. I rarely read auction posts and having them spammed across several different categories just increases my "View New Posts" list.

One forum should work for all auctions. Plus, it might help cut down on misunderstandings about posting auctions in the wrong forums.
I think it's a great idea.

Wouldn't this qualify for a "public comments on proposed changes" thread?
Yeah And I also like the idea... Those forums are as desolate as the comics section...

Nope. We're still tossing it around in the staff channels. I don't really do auctions, so I'm fine either way.

One auction to rule them all, I'm all for it.

I say combine them - with their traffic, it hardly hurts to hunt a little. (besides, the FIND ON PAGE option on the browser is your friend!)

I'm for it but I think we should REQUIRE descriptive topic listings (ie "Have 40K on Ebay, or FoW Germans on Ebay" and NOT vague listings like "Check out my stuff!!!".

I'd support this motion. Makes sense for many of the points already given. There would definitely need to be a requirement for highly descriptive thread titles as previously stated as well.

Sounds good... I may actually porous them if they were all in one.

You'd make them permeable to air and water?

Damn son! That be an english teacher diss!
But I would agree. . .both with moving them and requiring people to put descriptive titles in.

Not yet.
It would be premature for that.
Nothing goes there until we've vetted the idea amongst staff. Once we (staff) have (what we think will be) the finalized version, we put it up there for critiques. If any changes are necessary, we make them, then implement it as appropriate.
In this case, we're checking the general concensus on it before potentially wasting time on something that has been quite the fiery topic in the past (combining forums).
