I don't know if everyone is aware of this but ther is now a Blood Bowl Game for the XBOX 360.

I have never played the the table top game, but I might have to give this a try.

Check out fumbbl.com it is free online game. It uses the 4th edition rules but they are working on updating to 5th.
I have always LOVED the tabletop game and have been playing since the styrofoam board (dumb me tried to spraypaint it green).
The game is great, the only issue I have ever had is room on the board for prone players. Just dont go in for the expensive metal teams, I found that converting from regiments is far cheaper. Especially if you "go in with" others making similar teams.

To steer back to topic...

I was on the Beta for the online version (PC though) and it was ehhhhhh alright. I didn't go for the full version later either. A week or so ago, a buddy of mine got the 360 version, and he said not to bother. It was definitely more complete than the beta I played, but the game play kind of sucked. I watched it a little bit, but couldn't get into it. No customization, pretty blah actually.

I would say definitely a rental first just to check it out.

I agree on renting it first to see if you like it. I was in on the beta also, I lost interest very quick.

Sorry, I had misread your post and thought you were asking about the tabletop game as well as the xbox version. My mistake. (Although if you like that sort of game and miniatures games, I would suggest it)
From the reviews I read of it, it was not that great in the ways mentioned already. Plus it is apparently "real time" too which adds a different flavor then if your used to turn based. Definitely rent it to be sure before buying. If you like it, you could likely buy it cheap from someone who just bought it and found they did not like it.

I was looking at this game & considering buying it for Xbox 360. Reviews were 50-50.

I was involved in the beta for the PC version. It was good but slow. I like the idea that you can play it in either realtime or turnbased. I personally would want to play it in turnbased.

I would like to check it out, but I figure soon enough the price should drop WAY down. :-D

We'll see.

Any reviews from somebody who already has it???

I remember being very excited about the game, but the company that produced it really turned me off with all the waiting and the release of the download only version. And then more waiting. It just seemed to lose all of the impetus it had.

I still hope that it plays OK in turnbased (like the boardgame). I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't.

Isnt it $50-60 ? Kinda expensive. Like you said- in a month or two the price will drop. I like the idea of playing Blood Bowl - "boardgame style" on my Xbox.

I have the PC version. Definitely not worth the money. The campaign mode is slow and tedious (whether in live or turn based mode) and the multi-player is well, not really exciting. As has been said, there is very little customization and after a few matches it just becomes repetitive.

Even if you are a die hard table top player, you are better off investing the money in a new team or expanding your current one. The game is a massive disappointment. Only positive are the pretty animations and fairly decent graphics.

Shame. Does the game really follow the table-top version? Are the different teams really different in ability/power in the game?

Yes, that they do. Each team has it's own play style, strengths and weaknesses. For instance Dwarfs are great at defense and very tough but extremely slow and have no passing game. Wood Elves on the other hand are very fast, agile and great passers, but have horrible blockers and over all can take much less punishment. That said, the more you play, the more it feels like all the teams are maybe "over balanced" because, even though each team has it's own play style, it is easily adjustable depending on the team you are playing against.

Also, the AI is quite stupid. Literally unintelligent.

Over all, if you are someone who loves BB but maybe doesn't have access to a local gaming store or local league, by all means, get the game. The multi-player can be a great fix. Other wise, as I said above, you would be better off investing in a new team or expanding your existing one. Heck, even take the 50 that the game costs down to the pub and have a good time.
