I have received permission to post this from three Administrators. Per their request, if you take exception to this being posted in the Bartertown forums, you should not address it in this thread, but should send a PM copied to Linrandir, Porkuslime and MagickalMemories listing your complaints.

I am informally representing a group of fellow gamers and miniature collectors who are seeking redress from Black Tree Design USA for alleged non-delivery of paid-for products. I was hoping that by posting here on Bartertown I might be able to find more individuals who have paid for but not received their purchases from BTD. If feel that you have been victimized by BTD's business practices, I hope you consider joining our effort to find resolution for our grievances.

I was one of the people who fell for one of BTD's regular sales offers. After several months of no products delivered, no emails answered, and no explanations forthcoming, I began nosing around The Miniatures Page and discovered a large number of people who are very disgruntled with BTD's practices.

Based on my own experience and the reports of others, it seems that Black Tree Design (both the UK and US branches) are in the habit of taking payments without shipping items. Many people report receiving only small portions of their orders, and some received none at all. Some of these orders have gone a year or more without resolution. In some cases the victims assert they were bilked out of several hundred dollars worth of goods. No refunds have been forthcoming that I have ascertained.

You can view threads on the issue from other fora here:

I am currently helping to organize and acting as informal spokesperson for a number of people I encountered on The Miniatures Page who have outstanding issues with BTD USA due to their questionable business practices. We are looking into filing mass complaints with the post office, local law enforcement, and other various agencies in an attempt to get resolution for our grievances.

Due to the large number of hobbiests and gamers who use Bartertown, it seems to me that numbers of fellow BT'ers may have been affected as well. I f you fall into this category, I sincerely hope that you contact me and join our effort. The more individuals with legitimate grievances against BTD we can find, the better our chances of coming to some sort of resolution and of preventing others from falling victim to this unfortunate circumstance.

If you have ordered and paid for items from BTD USA but have not received them, please contact me so that I can add you to our ranks for future commutation and action. You can start by emailing me at cheshirekat72 AT yahoo DOT com with your name and a brief description of your complaint against Black Tree.
