Am I the only one who thinks it might be a HORIFYINGLY BAD idea to use this stuff for cleaning minis?

Read this tread then bought and tried it on plastics and metals. It's a 12.8 fl oz bottle for 2.76 where i live.

I squirted it on(gel stuck where it hit mostly) you have to make sure you cover the whole b/c you can blast the miniature a couple times and not all of its surface area gets covered.
I let this batch sit about an hour and a few before trying anything.

The metals stripped clean to about 97%, some spots just didnt come off . Mostly i stripped primed models. The chainmail on a oop chaos guy mostly came completly off. A metal dwarf slayer with it's deep cervices didnt do so well. An ogre bull(assembled plastic) didnt clean off very well at all. It was primed black and after rubbing it it only 65% cleaned up. All the joints and cervices didnt strip.

I noticed primer over glue didnt come off or soften up at all. On the plastic marauders i noticed the plastic weapons got kinda "rubbery" at the hand. Super glue got softer but not by much. After rubbing them down most still had a dark wash aspect, like the primer was in the pores of the plastic.(these were primed with a cheap primer)
The plastic orcs came pretty clean with the light wash thing going on aswell. Nothing bad at all, way better than they were.

Green stuff got softer(rubbery) and loose

In this little experiment I used at least .25% of the bottle. It dosent seem to go very far, but this was a first try so maybe I'm over doing it.

[-----You cannot water this stuff down or even add water to the mix until you are ready to wash it for certain. As soon as water hits it no longer will strip any paint off(dont ask me, but it says on the side of the bottle the same thing in different words). Water completely does away with its power.] ------------------------------I may be off my rocker with this statement. A second attempt proved that water wasnt the problem here.

Overall i give it a A- rating
only compared to brake fluid which gets an F-

Wear plastic gloves and be vintilated (Its not terrible but i dont want to breat it. ----------Second attempt and i say the vintilation is very necessary

What kind of primer did you use? Some of the Krylon primers actually bond with plastic. So no matter how long you leave it in, it will not come off.

Upon a second attempt it came off fully, I didnt wait long enough.

The metals i did previously are all clean now, they needed more time. The plastics still have that "ghostly primer" (i'll call it). The rubbery weapon thing still happens on poles for the plastics.

I like this product.

GRADE improves to an A

A more efficient method of application would be to squirt the gel into the toothbrush and brush it over the miniature. you'd get twice as many minis covered with the amount.
