General discussion on the trade side

One post on that last Ebay thread got me thinking that I wish there was a better area for discussion on the trading side of the boards. MM even cautioned the poster that his thread was potentially in the wrong area. I had read in a thread last week a similar concern and a Watchman or Mod said that the Info and Misc Message area was a "catch-all" so it's fine for anything. Maybe it's just me but I think it might be helpful if maybe there were a few more discussion sections in the trading area (if for no other reason than the overwhelming majority of traders seem to have an aversion to the discussion side). Especially a Question and Rules area might help nip some problems in the bud. Not that the rules aren't spelled out but as shown in a recent event some rules can perhaps be interpreted in different ways. Another area could be only for Technical Issues people are having. You get the idea. If you scroll down through the list it's a pretty nebulous bunch of topics. I suppose there are 2 arguments agianst this. The first is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and the other is that there is already a perfectly good discussion area available for use. I'm not sure I would disagree with either one, I just have a sense that something isn't the way it should be. Maybe I just wish more people came over to the discussion side, it can get pretty darn lonley over there...

A couple of things...

MM even cautioned the poster that his thread was potentially in the wrong area.

It was originally in the Bad trader section.

I don't really think that we need any more discussion areas on the trade side. I like that the trade side is for trading & the discussion side is for discussing.
I'd like it better if it was all on one "side," but I prefer status quo over diluting the trade side even more.

I agree about the other side. it does get kinda lonely with the same people. it's always nice when a new "face' shows up.

I remember when I first started posting over there, someone responded with something like, "MM, It's about time you made your way over here. I was wondering how long it was going to take you."

If it wouldn't make for a huge screen, I'd like it all in one area. For some reason my message read tags get all completely screwed up between the trading, discussion and warhammer40k.com sites. I never can effectively tell what I have read or not since they often get cleared.... Which means that for the most part, I never remember to go look at the other boards.

I even have subscriptions to topics set as a default, and I have the board white listed on my email, yet I still only ever receive 1/4 of the update notifications at most.

Warmonger is right, when I linked the boards together it was more of a frankensteining than anything else. I've spoken to the gurus on top of the mountain and I think I have a solution, I just need the weekend to try it out and see if it works.

We do need more continuity between the three sites

, Linrandir has been bugging me about it for quite some time now (he's so smart).

Anything I can do to help out, just let me know. I do a teeny tiny bit of php and site set up for phpbb and phpnuke. At the very least, I can be a good guinea pig.
