What the crap happened?

Well, here's the deal:

Every once and a while, the old web hosting company would shut down the sites for overuse (too many people using up too many resources they say). I kept telling them that it is BS and that there is something else going on. Monday this all came to a screeching halt and they threw our butts out onto the street.

I found a new host, we have a dedicated server and so we can trash it or do whatever we want and no one will care (before was a shared server so we had to play nice with the other people). I scrambled and got the sites back up and running and now we're stable(ish). As I was transferring files, Mr. Norton popped up and said "hey, looks like there's a trojan horse over here (worm/virus)". What some hacker was doing was using the server BT resided on to hack someone else, Denial of Service, send out mass spam mailings, who knows, THAT was what was causing the slowdowns and everything to fall apart. I've cleaned all of that up.

PM me if there are any problems with the site, what I've found so far is permissions stuff (can't upload files, etc.). No data should have been lost. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'll pipe in here. Thanks for all the trouble you go through to keep this place up and running. Without you and Bartertown I'd still have loads of crap sitting around my house. Now I have loads of other crap. How's the saying go?.... If you build it... game geeks will come...

yes good work adam, but one question the times that the system has been hacked, have you ever found who it was or anything? and if so, what happened?
