Having been on the receiving end of a seller who I am finalizing with and then jumps to a new bidder, and don't particularily think it is the way I want to treat other people. That is just a short step away from a back out in my eyes (one of the members here did that to me on a local site once and I am still fuming 1 year afterwards) and that is not how I want to be perceived as I start to make a name for myself in this community, even if I do get called a noob.
At this point in my gaming life, I'd rather trade/sell things off here, maybe pick up some pocket money in the process, and hopefully the person on the other end is someone who can appreciate and use it as much as I did over the last two decades. That means I will do "first come, first served" and I don't apologize for annoying collectors in the process. That is my choice. If I was simply after the greatest monetary return, I'd be posting on eBay.

Re: Trading SMART... and not like a NOOB!!!
I don't know. I had a trader was a little bitter that I accepted a different offer after he sent me a PM within 5 minutes of my posting a trade requesting, and I quote "first dibs". I had logged off before he sent his message and when I came back online the next day I had a dozen offers. I went through each one, selected two that I liked (which required that I split the lot) and that was that. I did message him and let him know that I had worked out a deal, and thanked him for his interest.
The reply was... terse, to put it in a word. I was surprised since I don't operate on a first come, first served basis. I didn't think anyone would assume that I did.

Please understand that in any deal, until we have agreed to trade terms, that neither of us has committed to a trade or purchase. I will still be accepting offers from others for any items until all trade terms are negotiated and we both explicitly state our agreement to them.
