Why is the GW Mordeim Augur (Sigmarite Sisters) so valuable?

Post by psiekier »

So, I was looking for Mordheim models on eBay today, and I see a Mordeim Sisters of Sigmar Augur model (the blind chick with two knives) bid up to $41.00.

What the heck?!?

I have one such model, but I lopped off the upraised knife and replaced it with an autopistol so I could use her as a psyker in an Inquisitorial Retinue.

I realize the role she can play in a Sisters warband, but why is this model so valuable? I used to see scads of them hanging neglected on the pegs of the local hobby shops (a Sisters warband may only include one, so they weren't a huge seller), so why the big demand now?

This isn't like that Female Commissar model thing, is it? I have one of those, too, also for my Inquisitorial Retinue.

Not sure.
It sounds like someone got rolling on the bidding and didn't quit.

Yeah, looks more like a bidding war more then anything else.

Really? Hmmm. I have one in my Sisters warband. Maybe it's time to put that lot up for sale. :)

I think it's because of the following:

1) Not in the Sisters boxed warband.

2) Sisters were relatively uncommon to begin with (in terms of warband selection).

3) Model is least...<not smart>...looking of the Sisters line.

What I can't figure is why all the Bertha's on eBay are going for $50 or more!

Neither models are for sale by GW. So I guess you could say they are collector's items now.

I suppose that makes sense. Truly OOP = greater value to someone who wants it.

$50 huh?!
I have the Bertha, and would like to get the Augur at some point for my Inquisitor retinue.
any of the sisters of sigmar are actually pretty good for a WH army.

Try looking for the Everqueen and maidenguard (if you can find them).
