Actually, putting in the public domain and free downloads are two VERY different things. GW could very easily say "We allow anyone who downloads it directly from our site to use it, but if you get it from any other means you can't." That is the great thing about copyright is that you can define who you are giving the right to.
By trading with me you agree that all signature based trade rules are not in force. If it isn't in the PM thread then it doesn't apply.

Which is exactly why I was planning on modifying the layout a bit and adjusting the parts for better fit and then reposting it (without the copyright & logo) for public domain use. ;)

I'm leaning toward a foamcore pentagon dread sized with a few small bits on the sides to fill in the CD and look doorish. But I could always use some constructive input. Want generic to use in whatever of my 3 SM armies I might be using any given tourney.
Go to a 'dollar store' etc & get small kids sand-box cement mixer trucks - not great plastic but vessel needs minimal work.
Discard truck to thrift store, convert mixer drum to drop pod.

Donate truck to a local Ork enthusiast, convert mixer drum to drop pod.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Good to see some ideas floating around the pvc pipe sounds promising. I did get a copy of the drop pod plans and grabbed some foamcore while on vacation. Originally I was leaning toward the large cd spindle container with the sides removed as it would give a ready make perch for the stormbolter or missle and adding a raised floor and some dropped doors from cardstock.

Thanks again for all the input.
