Bad trade reportnig question

If you have not received your part of the trade/purchase within a reasonable time after you've sent what you agreed to,

Whats a reasonable amount of time? Because frankly I'm getting honked off at a gentleman with a high(440) rating who I have gotten NO response and should have shipped out same time since I have a decent(242) rating, and has not responded to PM's. Deal was closed 15th, shipped 17th. No response since 22nd.

This one should KNOW better as far as I'm concerned.

You shipped on the 17th? And he received on the 22nd? Do you know if he has shipped? Does he have your address?

If he has already received your half then I wouldn't wait more that a week. Especially with such a high rating. In the future you should spell out how long a person has to ship from the time they have received your half of the deal.

I would give him until this weekend. There may be some issue with computer access during the week.
That said, the lack of communication from a trader with that high of a rating is annoying as they should know better.

No offense but posting on the 23rd saying 'no response since the 22nd' is kinda silly :/ He's got high feedback, he's probably not trying to scam you, just be patient.

I know it arrived, since everything goes with confirmation. Mine arrived the 18th to him. No response

Nipsky: No thats just the latest PM dropped. I havent had anything since the 17th when I posted confirmation. I know he picked it up since its not in my out box.


Blackspade: the weekend sounds reasonable. Someone with that high SHOULD know better is my thinking exactly.

I mean, yeah... He's probably not trying to rip anyone off.... I mean on the rest.
Everyone should be held to the same expectations.


Sure. I've been late on trades. HORRIBLY late. Had one that I forgot for almost two weeks. The other guy PMed me and I got it out the next day. I felt horrible about it. This guy, though, is getting PMs and not responding.
Not cool.

Yeah I made my comment thinking the PM was sent on the 22nd and still hadn't been responded to on the 23rd; didn't realize there was more of a gap.

I've done the same re: trades, the last one I did I forgot about it until I found the box when I was moving several weeks after I thought I'd remembered shipping it I threw in some bonus bits and got it shipped out ASAP, the other guy was super understanding.

You realized what I did and what too many people don't.

If you F*** up on a trade, ADMIT IT, OWN UP TO YOUR ERROR, and DO WHATEVER YOU REASONABLY CAN TO RECTIFY IT. The majority of traders here will be understanding with you. Especially if you adhere to thoss simple suggestions.

Make up some B.S. "It got stuck at the USPS, but I called them and they're sending it now" LIE, and you're getting hosed... and not in a good way. : )

Totally. That's exactly what I did. I *edit* up, owned up to it, got it out as soon as I could, and since it was a trade of bitz for BFG stuff I just threw in everything he was interested in (its just rolling around in my bitz box anyways) instead of just what he wanted. Honesty is always the best policy as far as Bartertown goes, no joke.

Amusingly, I doubly didn't have a problem sending out extra bitz because the blister I got from him, while NIB, was miscast, so I got GW to send me a second one ^_^
