New Paypal Trick?
Is it just me, or is this new? Whenever you go to make a payment, it comes out of your checking via instant transfer by default. You have to select for it to come out of your paypal balance. Obviously they would want you taking money out of the bank rather than their pool.

Re: New Paypal Trick?
I saw this while making a purchase from Maelstrom Games in the UK.. if you don't have a verified Credit Card, it will now only suck out of your checking account. If you do have a credit card, you can use paypal balance..GMMStudios wrote:Is it just me, or is this new? WTF?
I don't like it.. but also admit I don't know enough about it one way or the other.
2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.
If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.
I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

No, this is not new. It's been this way for a while.

That is odd then because I dont remember it being like that...Last time I bought something online without using "send money" was maybe a month or two ago, and I dont recall it being like that. Then again maybe I just didnt catch it.Massawyrm wrote:No, this is not new. It's been this way for a while.

Inherently, PP should always pull from any available balance first. After that, it pulls from your checking account unless you switch it to a CC.
PP used to make you choose a CC or checking, then they swithed the process so you have to intentionally choose a CC. They did this because, if you don't know to switch, they'll hit your checking account. This removes the possibility that a CC can interject if there is a dispute.

or...like in my case. You don't notice and it pulls from an empty bank account instead of the CC and you get banks fees up the baboons butt...
