Possible Bad Trader: The Drop Zone
I hate to have to place this ad, but my problems with The Drop Zone have been going on for months and it's getting pretty ridiculous.
Last October I contacted The Drop Zone to order a LE German Champion of Tzeentch and inquired about placing a rather large order for bitz and some game dice as well. Everything seemed to go smoothly, the bitz took about a month to arrive, and the LE model and dice took a little longer to arrive (one set of dice never showed though). I was fine with this because I wasn't in a huge hurry or anything and I was being updated regularly about the order.
My order finally shipped early December, and when it arrived a few of the bits that had arrived were missing. I promptly contacted The Drop Zone to let them know of the problem, and it was from this point everything quickly went downhill. My emails were commonly ignored for weeks, and when I received responses I was usually told that a replacement order had been placed and that the bits should arrive soon. Next I hear the replacement bits order was also missing one of the bits, so another order needed to be placed.
Fine, I'm patient, but now I can't even get a response to any of my messages. I've been sending them for weeks and don't hear anything back, all the while I'm seeing The Drop Zone post ads on BT for things such as raffles and items for sale. I think the laziness in correcting this order and dealing with the situation is unbelievable. I was hoping to place future orders with The Drop Zone, but this whole ordeal has definitely given me something to think about. I understand GW can be hard to deal with, but I think a bits order placed in October should be finalized by February/March of the next year, and at the very least he could bother to respond to my inquiries.
I don't know what else to do, besides warn other BT members about The Drop Zone's terrible customer service. I'd definitely think twice about ordering from them again.

Here's the few messages I still have saved from this purchase. Obviously I don't have all of them because this has been going on for months and BT doesn't save sent message for that long. I've sent a few additional recent messages that for some reason aren't showing up in the "sent" box, not sure why (BT crash?). I also have the original order messages done through my email if you guys think they're necessary to see.

Did you ever receive the LE German Lord of Tzeentch? A delay on that model can be understandable based on overseers shipping, customs etc etc. I really can't say much since you did not include all of your correspondence. At least you should post what your order was to explain exactly what did not arrive. At this point in time since TDZ discontinued bits orders, I would just suggest asking for a refund. If he refuses, take legal action and file a police report at your local department and his local police department. A good store owner would just eat it and refund you your money being such a small order as you claim.
Here's the original order messages done through my email address:

Hey, here's the final bits order (as an attached Excel file) I want to place
along with my order for the LE German Tzeentch Champ on Disc; everything
together should come out to $119.80. How do you prefer to receive payment?
Also, I saw you were trading for the LE Bonesinger model on BT, what were
you looking to trade one for? I have several items currently available for
trade listed under my BT screen name (uatu13). I'd also consider trading
items to cover part of this order if that's an option. Let me know, thanks!

Cool, well, I definitely want to order the 40K dice and fantasy marker sets.
Do I need to have my mom call again so you can use her CC, or can it be
added to the current charges? So, in total my order should be as follows:
Bits Order (including the lizardmen bits added through the email I sent)
LE German Tzeentch Champ
40K Vehicle Dice Set
Fantasy Marker Set
So far we've paid for the bits and LE tzeentch champ, so there should be an
additional $13.50 owed for the two accessory sets.

bitz orders are 20% off with free shipping on a 20.00 bitz order
thats the only way i make enough to cover shipping i dont make anything off of bitz by themselves

Do I need to have my mom call again so you can use her CC, or can it be

Bits Order (including the lizardmen bits added through the email I sent)
LE German Tzeentch Champ
40K Vehicle Dice Set
Fantasy Marker Set
So far we've paid for the bits and LE tzeentch champ, so there should be an
additional $13.50 owed for the two accessory sets.

I did receive the LE German Champ, the fantasy markers, and most of the bits. I was missing a Drazhar arm, Stegadon horn, Slann priest arm, and Long Drong's Slayer Pirates banner top. I understand this is a relatively small set of bits, but the problem I'm having is he doesn't respond to my messages. I don't want a refund of like $5, I want the complete bits order I originally placed, which shouldn't be hard to do since he has stated the bits are in his possession.
Agreed. You're only missing a few bits that any individual (retailor or not) will be able to access. Again, IMO a faithful retailor would just eat this and ship the bits for a few bucks shipping especially if he already possesses them. Thanks for making yourself a little more clear.
So you're really looking at two things. Partially missing order and poor customer service correct?
Pretty much, I wouldn't even have a problem with the bits missing from the original order as long as they would have ever been sent. I think 2-3 months is long enough to correct a problem as small as this, and I can't come up with any reason why he ignores my messages all the while making multiple posts on BT. If I receive the bits then everything is resolved to my satisfaction, I'd never order from TDZ again, but this problem would be over.

What about if TDZ refunds the money for the missing bitz, uatu? I know he's no longer doing bitz orders (can't say I blame him w/ GW's lack of support in that area) so I don't know how he'd follow though if you're just expecting bitz...

for someone who is amitted thief and stole from a game store and was caught i suggest you keep your mouth shut before i go further and post your own admission where you stole the blisters.
please call my bluff.. not only will i post the original posters pm to me who informed me of it, ill post your own post where you admitted you took them over a trade dispute.. stealing is ok if done for the right reason huh ?
Jeff
seeing as how i just got back in to btown for the firs time since thursday can you guess why i didnt answer you? imagine that go figure..
now as i have been told by gw that a 310.00 bitz order was on the way as of friday
i am hoping your drazhar figure is among the items comming thus completing the order
and what do you think after you spend over 150.00 dollars im going to screw you out less that 5.00?
this is why i stopped doing bitz orders
you have no clue on how screwed up the ordering system at gw is. I have had to have my freinds order the bitz for anything as of late as they wont ship me the right stuff.. why is that do you suppose? oh i can only say they know i sell bitz online.. it cuts into their own sales or i used to
and if any of you are naieve enough to think gw wouldnt do it.. then i feel sorry for you
once again another bitz order gone to pot
Jeff ill let you know if drahzar comes in and when i ship it if not ill snd you the balance of what is owed plus the shipping from gw so you can buy it for yourself

That's fine with me, I know GW can be pretty terrible to deal with, but I've been sending messages for a while now and have pretty much been ignored. I've actually sent a few responding to posts you've put up on BT over the last few weeks, so you can't exactly claim you've just got back onto BT. I think I've been pretty patient with the whole situation and waited quite a while before making this post.
Your solution sounds fine to me, I just want to end up with the stuff I ordered. I didn't think you were outright trying to screw me or anything, and made that clear in this post, but things should have been resolved by now. No offense, but maybe you should focus just on trades rather than as a retailer of GW stuff. Whatever the cause there seems to be some trouble in that area.
Let me know what you end up sending out (hopefully the missing bits) and when they ship, thanks.
Jeff

Hello,
I wanted to comment to you about how I am impressed with your professionalism handling of Evan Bassett's handling of your transaction. I didn't even know you took orders until I saw that thread. I will be ordering from you in the future. I have some background for you. I used to be a GW employee in Illinois 2 years ago. Evan was a "friend" who I found out stole blisters from the shelf while I was working. I didn't see him do it but the old Daemonhost blisters were gone and a bulge in his pocket was visible. Anyhow we had a fight and he admitted it. Our whole gaming group shunned him afterwards, Yo would do well not to take any orders from him. He is passive aggressive and a liar.
Again I appreciate the way you do business and I hope to place some orders with you shortly.

this pm alone tells me all i need to know about you.. i consider you to be a dishonest scam artist
the admins of bartertown already know about this message and where it came from i didnt make it up
Now since Pain Train (that is the online name I know him by. for the life of me, I cannot remember his real life name) decided to contact you, I realize why you are so aggravated about our situation. Know this: He has an axe to grind, and there is a lot of history regarding that particular incident that he didn't inform you of. The story goes like this: that man offered a very similar service (ordering bitz at a discount) while he was a GW employee to several members of our local gaming group. He did this because he was extremely disgruntled about how GW had treated him, and it appeared as though he wanted to 'stick it to them' and get as much stuff as he could before he quit. I took advantage of that offer, and requested that he order me some items. The other members of the group and I decided to do something nice and buy him terrain, so everyone chipped in $20+ and we bought him a bunch of stuff. Shortly thereafter, he was essentially put on notice at his job (probably for scamming GW), and backed out on the deals he had not yet completed. Mine was one of those so cancelled. I was a little miffed, especially when he accepted the gift of the terrain without so much as a thanks to those who donated. I took that personally, and (in an exceptionally stupid and youthfully ignorant move), went into the store where he worked and stole two blisters to compensate for the cash I had wasted on him. Since I was not taking anything from his pocket (but GW's, who he had no live for), I saw no harm in this. I was wrong. He happened to be working that day, noticed, and took it personally. He then started a flame campaign in our group's forum that essentially tore the group apart. I was kicked out for the sole reason that he would not let up and let go and move on. I actually received an apology from two of the group's admins several months later, after Pain Train had finally left the area (and the group) and they asked me to come back and play again. Imagine that.
I honestly don't care if BT's admins know about that story. It was a stupid argument that happened between two people who were both too pigheaded at the time to realize that both were in the wrong. I know that the BT admins are not as easily swayed by slander and hearsay as the members of my former gaming group, and I believe that my feedback both here and on eBay speak for themselves. I am no scam artist, irregardless of what Pain Train's or your personal opinions of me.
Regarding Pain Train, I have no hard feelings for him. I do think that it is unfortunate that a man of almost 40 would harbor that kind of resentment against anyone for that long. I haven't spoken to him since that incident, nor do I really wish to, as he never struck me as a particularly pleasant man, but I would not go so far as to say I hold a grudge against him.
there you go all out in the open..

Also, in reply to nitsky416's post, I'm not going to leave negative feedback as long as things are finalized in a fair way.
Anyways, I think the feedback system is kind of screwed up, because as soon as anyone leaves a negative post they get one themselves (not accusing TDZ of doing this), but it's not worth the risk.
