Can't read PMs

Post by amrogers3 »

I get an email notification that I have a PM. When I go into BT to check my PMs, I get an error, "You are not authorised to read private messages that are on hold."

Hey. I got your message.
It was your address that I needed, so I'll be able to send out your package.

Try checking to see how many private messages you have in your inbox. It might be that you have hit your limit. In that case, you are going to have to delete some or move them to a different folder.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Checked your permissions & groups, everything seems to be in order.

Another option is that someone sent you a PM, then deleted it after you got the e-mail notification. That error message might be the odd manifestation of such a circumstance.

Wasn't that. I sent him a message this morning, but he couldn't read it. He got a message about them being on hold. I am pretty sure that's what happens when your inbox is over full.
I seem to recall that happening to me a timer to in the past.

That's because you hoard. I think there is a TV show that may help you ;)

LOL
The fact that I typoed my own name above is why I don't like to Bartertown on my phone. LOL

And It's not hoarding.
It's extreme procrastination.

Hey guys, I tried deleting old PMs. Still getting the same error and I still can't read MM's PMs.

Still getting: "You are not authorised to read private messages that are on hold."

Mailbox says folder is 86% full (650 out of 750 messages stored)

I did a quick Google search.
Is there a Release PMs or Release Messages button?

I can't read any new PMs. I can read all old PMs though. I don't see a release button.

Can you send me a test message?

Got one from 3eland and one from pretre. Looks like it is now working.

I guess MM's messages from before are lost in the warp forever. :(

Thanks for the help fellas, much appreciated!!

Or MM messed up and is blaming "the system". He's not a young chapper like myself anymore.
