Unashamedly looking for VOTES! (5th grade math contest)

Post by porkuslime »

OK.. this is a general appeal to any and all ...

McGraw/Hill is sponsoring a contest for the cover of a new elementary school level Math Textbook. Winning entry (by votes) wins $15K in technology assistance for their school system.

As it happens, ONE of the 72 finalists nationally for the contest is Nate, (who sits next to my daughter!!!) in the 5th grade category. He created a Lego Mario for the contest...

Now, evidently, he is in second place... and could get into first place at any time.

Voting for the contest runs until November 27th, and DOES require an account on the voting site. Easy 1-2-3 to register, but it DOES require it.

http://mymath.shycast.com/submission/show/2992

is the direct link to Nate's entry..

So, if you have the time, inclination, and desire to support some kid who you have never met.. my daughter would deeply appreciate you taking a few minutes to vote for her friend...

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

Voted!

- A simple 'not interested' to a trade offer is just being polite. It helps people setting up multiple trades know where they stand.
- Google something for someone, they get an answer. Teach someone how to Google their own answer, they own the Internet.

Nate did not win, but the Mario sculpture IS now featured in his schools Display Case along with his certificate of merit for getting that far. He is graduating 6th grade here in 23 days (along with my daughter) ...
