Salamander Space Marines

I recently finished a hefty commission for a force of Salamanders. I thought I'd share the results with the community here:

I have quite a few more photos in my Salamanders Space Marine gallery. Close ups, and more individuals from the various units I painted.

Anyway, what do you think?

Ah, GN... I think I've found my only complaint with you yet!

Flames.
They are brighter the hotter they are. So, at the base of the flame, they'd be white/yellow. Near the outer tops, they'd be orange to red.

I agree with you entirely that flames should be painted with a brighter, hot base, and that they then get cooler and therefore less bright as they raise.

On all of these minis, the only time that I painted anything to look like an actual flame was on Vulkan He'Stan (his iron halo is on fire). The rest of the flames are essentially decals that someone painted on the side of the vehicles and armor.

I used the two methods of painting flames as a way to distinguish between the actual flames and the decals. As for how effective this is, that's up to you.

I caught your idealistic drift after MM posted. I had to look at all the images, but anywhere there is real fire, you painted the flames 'properly'. Really nice work overall!!

Wow.
I ALWAYS thought Rita was hot (funny chicks are hot). That picture just confirms it.
What is she, now? Fifties? She's probably "surgically enhanced."
I don't care. Hawt iz hawt.

Back on topic.

Didn't even notice the Halo. Wow. THAT is a spectacular flame job!
Personally, I think all the flames should've been done that way... but, at least I understand the method to your madness!

I absolutely LOVE the work on the TH/SS models. Seriously.. I'm half tempted to start Salamanders and have you paint me a squad of Termies just like that. lol

I've started hosting with a different site since I painted these. However, these should still be hosted on the old site, and they're showing up for me just fine.

Is anyone else having trouble?

I just see the word "Image." (Sans quotes).
