THIS IS LITERALLY IN THE BARTERTOWN RULES. DO NOT SELL RECAST MODELS ON BARTERTOWN.

It is pretty obvious that some of you haven't read the rules, or don't care. If we keep seeing recast models, you WILL find yourself banned from Bartertown.

Again, STOP TRYING TO SELL OR TRADE RECAST MODELS ON BARTERTOWN.

What's the best way to tell if something is recast? I have some really old FW that is a different color resin then my newer stuff.

Thanks!

The only way to be sure is if you bought them from FW yourself. Also if someone is willing to take a huge hit in price is a good indicator. I treat anyhing 2nd hand as recast when buying unless I know the person or they can verify the order came FW somehow.

Real FW resin tends to be a light grey, and has some flex to it. Recast FW can either be very dark, or be a bright yellow (there are however some very old FW kits that use yellow resin). Recasts are also brittle, and tend to have a very bad smell.

Also the things that Tyrius said about it being really cheap. If something is 90 pounds from FW, and someone else is selling it for $90, it is probably a recast. Too good to be true.

White is also a color you could see from FW. MY Eldar superheavy arrived direct from FW with everything grey except the main part of the turret which was white.

Guys. Please, remember that this is a trade forum, not a discussion forum.
For discussion on telling recasts from actual product, please start a new thread in the Discussion forums at the bottom of the main page.

Thank you.
