Deadbeat/backout: EmpireGeneral8116 - Resolved

Post by getupandgo » Mon Sep 22, 2008 2:08 pm

Just about a month now with no package in hand. Ignored numerous PMs in regards to this.

Deadbeat and a waste of time. No contact from him since august 22nd.

PMs are from newest to oldest.

Hey Jonathan,
As is standard for the site for traders with low ratings, would you be willing to ship first? I have done many transactions like this in the past, and you can view my feedback to see proof of this.

Also, do you have pictures of the models? What's the general condition?
Please let me know about the payment conditions, and I usually pay within a day of getting a pacakge...

Would you take $110 for the lot?

Please let me know, I'd be interested.
Thanks!

As it sits, only one person can make that request and only a Mod or Admin can delete the thread if he requests.

Let's hope the OP sees your response and let's us know his feeling on it.

Now, OFF topic, let me express my condolences. When I moved back to St. Louis, there was a fire at the storage facility where we had out stuff. My family and I lost about 85% to 90% of our belongings (which had already been pared down before we moved to about half to 25% of what it HAD been). It's devastating to see what can happen and how fast it can happen.

My greatest fear is a fire in my home. In offering you my condolences, it's sincere.

Good luck.

@EmpireGeneral: I'm sorry to hear about the fire, and I hope nothing important was lost. That said, it would be *your* responsibility to let your trading partner know about the change in conditions as soon as practical, and then to negotiate based on the change in situation.

As it stands, the Deadbeat / Backout report is properly-warranted and should *NOT* be removed.

Agreed.

...unless the OP changes him mind, in light of these new (granted, ALLEGED) circumstances.

Ok, so show proof. Its been over 2 months. You couldnt send one email?? No computers at the local library? Where I live Kmart has computers for the public.

My sympathies if you had a fire. But NOW what are you going to do about this trade???? You OWE this guy. That isnt mentioned in your reply here.

Empiregeneral- You couldnt contact this guy about the deal you made, you ignored PMs, when you had to see them when you logged in & posted, but you could post 3 more trade adds on Nov 21st??

Anybody who would trade with you is a fool.

You deserve a back-out & you deserve a negative. Your mighty trade rating of 0 is deserved. Thats the trust you've earned- ZERO.

I just saw that he replied... even if the story is true, I never received a PM from him, even after he posted in this thread...

Had I gotten one, stating what had happened, I might have been sympathetic, but since his responsibility was shirked, even AFTER he came back online, I'd request that the thread remains.

OKay. I'm about to lock the thread, because it's getting out of hand.

Here are the facts:

EmpireGeneral backed out of a trade.
Whatever his reasons, he backed out. I'm not making any judgements here, just stating facts.

Then, a backout thread was posted on him.

He eventually responded in the thread, stating what the problem was, but still never contacted the OP directly.

The OP's still upset about the backout & lack of contact. EmpireGeneral's upset about having his name dragged through the muck.

EmpireGeneral: PM the OP on this. Apologize or don't. Your call.
Reiterate to him what happened. Don't be rude.

getupandgo: When he PM's you, respond. Don't be rude.

That's how grown ups handle it. Talk like a couple of adults. Figure out if/how you're going to complete the deal. You might just be better of calling it a bust and parting ways.

If the OP or EmpireGeneral have anything they'd like to post in this thread, they should post it.

When it's all over, getupandgo should leave whatever ref's he feels necessary (even if that is NO ref).

Sorry if I seem a bit snippy, but I can't stand to see adults having such verbal slap-fights.

not sure this post is warranted, but i wanted to state that EmpireGeneral8116 shipped my purchase quickly for a great price (about two weeks ago now), and was very cordial. he even sent me extra figures just for the heck of it. i got the impression that he is trying to make the best of a bad situation.

so anyhow, just thought i would throw that out there.

Finally sent me a package, and included a lot of extras to make up for the delay. I will be asking the admins to delete the thread.

Sorry, GetUp... BTR's and Deadbeat/Backout posts do not get deleted.
They are a matter of permanent record. I can, and will, lock the thread and mark it as resolved, however.
