Post by Dakkar98 »

I am filing a back out report on Jamie Barrett (great8)

My last contact with him was on when he last visited on Thursday Feb 16, 2012 3:38 pm when he read the message that I sent him at 11:54 pm that same day.

What follows is a complete accounting of our communications concerning this deal.

Subject: Want Legion of the Damned
great8 wrote:Hey Guys,

Looking for legion of the damned legionairres and heavy weapons teams. Prefer a group of 10 or more if possible. New or old doesn't really matter. Not looking to pay a premium of oop models. Prefer bare metal/primed but would consider painted if the price is right. Don't need much command, but need a little, basic troopers is really what I am after.

I have in blister FOW germans LW/italians LW, LOTR metals, Warmaster EMpire and undead, Some 40k IG vehicles in box, paypal.

Let me know what you have and what you want for them. Thanks.
I have a sizable lot of bare metal oop LOTD.
I'll have to get you the exact numbers when I get home from work.

We'll see what we can work out.

Jamie,
Let me know what you think.

I got out my 2000 GW catalog that still has the Price listings for the LOTD Bits.
Bits pricing for everthing I have when it was brand new in 2000 was over $400.00 Retail Value.
An equivalent number of the new models would be nearly $500.00.

I'd like to get $200.00 cash plus shipping (more than 50% off)
~or~
$260.00 or so of NIB/NOS Space Marine stuff.

LMK, thanks,
Dakkar

Hi Dakkar,

I can check my space marines stuff, but it is a couple of editions old. Can you take paypal for payment? Thanks.

Jamie
Dakkar98 wrote:Sent: Mon Jan 30, 2012 11:13 am
Jamie,
I can take paypal, but I only accept payments via personal transfer other. I think my feedback speaks for itself, and I don't fancy lining some ebay execs pockets with extra money if I can help it. US postal Money Order is another way that I will accept payment.

Would you be interested in a Sgt Centurious to go with your LOTD?

LMK, thanks,
Dakkar
great8 wrote:Sent: Mon Jan 30, 2012 1:46 pm
Dakkar,

I can do a funds from savings account via paypal or whichever works for you. That should incur you no fees? I totally understand about not giving paypal any extra money, I appreciate their service but not their fees so much.
I would be interested in your Centurious, but I would expect he will be a lot due to the limited edition and all?

Thanks.

Jamie
Dakkar98 wrote:Sent: Mon Jan 30, 2012 5:52 pm
Jamie,
I ran into a snag.
I have good news and potentially bad news.

Good News:
I went looking for Centurious to make sure I had one to trade you.
I do indeed have one. He was in a box with more Legion of the Damned. (I thought I had more).

Here are the new totals for the LOTD Marines:
  • 7 Sergeants (4 of one pose, 3 of another)
15 heavy weapon troopers (6 HB, 6 ML, 3 LC)
9 special Weapon troopers (4 Flamer, 3 plasma, 2 melta)
    53 Troopers
Assortment of LOTD Backpacks, Shoulder pads, bolters and bolt pistols
1 chaplain that I had begun converting into a LOTD Captain
Bad News:
I'd like to keep this as a lot.
I started collecting these way back in 2nd edition when they put out an army list for doing the Legion as a stand alone army.
I wanted to do full company of them.
I actually got extra shoulder pads to have the left shoulder be all the same one like an actual space marine company.

Would you still be interested in the full lot?

LMK, thanks,
Dakkar
great8 wrote:Sent: Tue Jan 31, 2012 2:37 pm
Hey Dakkar,

Yeah that is good and bad news. I originally was looking for a squad or two. I guess I could be persuaded to go for your full army. Got an idea on what price you are looking for? Thanks.

Jamie
Dakkar98 wrote:Sent: Tue Jan 31, 2012 10:24 pm
Jamie,
I believe that we were about to come to an agreement for 48 LOTD for $200.00 plus shipping.
I found 36 more LOTD, 3/4 of the original number, logic would dictate that we add 3/4 of the original figure ($150.00) to the total.

16 of the additonal 36 are partially assembled and primed black, so I'll knock off some for that.

What would you say to $325.00 Shipped for the Lot?

Give me your thoughts,

LMK, thanks,
Dakkar
great8 wrote:Sent: Wed Feb 01, 2012 2:05 pm
Hey Dakkar,

Yeah, that sounds fair. I'll take them. Just let me know how to pay you with paypal so you don't get any fees. Thanks for the deal!

Jamie
Dakkar98 wrote:Sent: Wed Feb 01, 2012 3:05 pm
Jamie,
That sounds great.
I guess the only other thing is: did you want a Sgt. Centurius?
There is one currently on E-Bay for 59.99 GBP ($94.66 US).

I have 2:
I intended to use Centurious A in only in private settings, and Centurious B in matches in public settings (incase someone tried to steal him).

Centurious A is bare metal and beautiful. He is $75.00 if you want him.

Centurious B must have been of of the last casts of him that they made and the molds were a little wonky. He is fine except he is a little thin in the legs and I removed his helmet from his hip because it looked like a rubber Halloween mask hanging from his belt. He is primed black.
If you want him, I'll let him go for $25.00.

Edit:
To save time once you get the above message, for the Paypal Transaction, select the personal tab and then other.
I have included my standard Summary below. If you wish to include either or both of the Sgt. Centurious models, let me know and I will send you an amended Summary.

Summary of Deal:

HI Dakkar,

Still milling the centurius over. Not sure I want to pay that much for the limited editions. I know they are worth it, just trying to figure if they are worth it to me. Will let you know today or tomorrow. Thanks.

Jamie,
If you want we can go ahead and do the deal for everything else, and then if you decide later that you want one, we can do that as a separate transaction.
If you want pics of anything let me know.

I'll do $300.00 plus actual cost of shipping for the lot plus Centurious B.

Dakkar,

How does $350 shipped with both centurius's sound? Thanks.

Jamie
Dakkar98 wrote:Sent: Tue Feb 07, 2012 2:52 pm
Jamie,
Centurious A can easily go for the $75.00 that I offered him to you for.

http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?_nkw=sgt ... Complete=1

The offer stands:
$300.00 plus actual cost of shipping for the lot plus Centurious B.

Add $75.00 for Centurious A.

Retail on the lot is over $700.00 using the 2000 price guide, they are likely worth more.

I sent payment via a bank account transfer. That should limit/eliminate the fees. Let me know if you have any problems with it. Thanks for the deal!

You should have the money back.
It cost .30 to do the refund, but that is a lot better than $11.90

Jamie,
Due to an issue of fraud I had to get a refund of paypal monies from Itunes on the 15th.
Paypal finally gave me access to those funds today.
I issued you your refund on the 16th.
I believe that you will have access to those funds tomorrow (if you do not already).

I have to work long days tomorrow and Friday, but I will have the car if you resend payment (via personal transfer: other ONLY) on one of those days, I will try to get to the Post Office on my lunch break.
If I cannot get away at lunch, I am off work on Saturday and will take it as soon as the Post Office opens on Saturday.

LMK, thanks,
Damon
I have also placed the 1st of 4 calls to the number that he gave me on Friday February 24th at 9:25 pm.
I left him a message that he should have access to his funds so that he could resend.

I have placed 3 additional calls:
2nd on Sunday February 26th at 5:06 pm
3rd on Saturday March 3rd at 1:10 pm

For each of these I asked that he check his messages and please contact me.

4th Wednesday March 14th at 7:37 pm

I told him that I would be filing the backout report and that he could deal with the negative conotations of that.

I normally do not issue Negative feedback for backouts, but his complete lack of communication makes me want to leave him a negative comment.

I am posting this today (03/15/2012) here in the backout forum.
I am also sending a copy of this to him via PM and E-mail.
He has 30 days to contact me to complete the trade, or at least explain himself.
If I do not hear from him by April 15th I will post negative feedback against his Bartertown username.
