USPS Awaiting Delivery Scan

Hey all, I have a package that went out for delivery on Saturday. Now my tracking info shows as "Awaiting Delivery Scan" at 9:43 PM Saturday night. Still waiting to hear back from the recipient, but never seen that on tracking info before. Anyone know what that means?

It means that the person who picked it up may not have been diligent about scanning it. It'll generally be scanned at the next point of contact.
Alternatively, it means the person sending printed the label and never put it out to be picked up.

It was scanned as Out for Delivery Saturday morning. Then the only other update is the Awaiting Delivery Scan. That’s why I’m confused by it.

Oh, then it was probably delivered and the mailperson never scanned it at the mailbox.
