Super Dungeon Explore?

Post by kturock »

Who's tried the game?
How does it play?
Is it like GW's Talisman?
What's with all of the models for sale?
Are they needed?
Does the game burn out fast that it needs new expansions and updates?

I like it myself.. only played twice though. It really DOES remind me of the Gauntlet video game.. lots of spawning enemies with a Boss Monster every once in a while.

It is NOT like talisman much.. there are similarieties.. I think it is closer to Heroquest myself..
2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Folks I am awaiting a ref from.. Zack

I've played quite a bit of Super Dungeon Explore. The game is very much a dungeon crawler with some video game themes built in.

It actually works surprisingly well without lots of different monsters to choose from- but like all dungeon crawlers, it is nice to have some different options for characters and monsters.

So that you know the state of things- SPM designed a new edition of the game as part of their Super Dungeon Legends Kickstarter. That Kickstarter is currently stalled, but the new rulebook and any new materials you might need are available in PDF form I highly recommend playing the game with those updated rules (they're really good).

There are two different ways to play- there's a Co-op mode called "Super Dungeon Arcade" and a One-Verses-All version (now called simply "explore"). Both are very good in the new edition.
