A game I played once, but I cant recall the name...
I am hoping someone might help me remember a game I once played.
I'd like to look for it again, but I just cant remember the name.
Here is what I do remember about it:
Futuristic
Miniatures (some good guy soldiers... I dont remember if the bad guys were aliens or robots now. I cant picture what they looked like.)
It was in the 90's
We bought it at... a Toys R Us or a Kay-Bee Toys I believe.
It was actually a boar game...though if I recall correctly... the board may have been in sections?
I THINK it may have taken place on a space ship.
My memory is vague on it all as you may have noticed....but the final thing I think I recall is that at least one of the soldiers wore a beret.
Any guesses?
If I see a picture of the game, I should be able to recognize it.
Thanks!

Thats a different version, but the same idea as Warzone.
Fury of the Clansman, was another box set, boardgame.
The necromutants and centurion, were in a 4 man squad. Each squad was molded in a different color plastic. They were the evil/bad guys.
The good guys were based on the UK themed faction; Imperial. THe had a several models, including a character that used swords. The named character had claymore.
I don't recall what color they were cast.
It was a typical fold out heavy cardboard mapboard.
Also way back where GW had Advanced SPace Crusade which had Space Marines, mostly scouts, vs Tyranid warriors. That board was a series of loose, thin cardboard map pieces.

Don't know who you're replying to. Mutant Chronicles was a pen and paper RPG and a recent (failed) relaunch set in the Warzone universe.GreatWolf wrote:Well, I thought I would recognize it better when I saw it.... but I think that might be the one. Warzone was the minis wargame.
Blood Berets, Siege of the Citadel, and Fury of the Clansmen were all boxed games sold in toy stores etc and which stood alone.
Blood Berets is currently still available here:

Re: A game I played once, but I cant recall the name...
Hahah. Thanks anyway Eric.
So any of you guys ever play that game?
Any good? I think I tried it one time and... well... I just dont remember if I even liked it or not.
I was thinking I'd like to pick up a few of these types of games for me and my family to play, or me and any of my friends who want a fun game that wont take an entire afternoon to play.
I have Hero Quest. And for when the kids are older Warhammer Quest.
We have Star Wars Epic Duels. Awesome game! (though I wish they'd have made an expansion or two)
Im planning to pick up Battlemasters at some point. I had that long ago. Wish I kept it.

Re: A game I played once, but I cant recall the name...
It's an ok intro into the rest of the Warzone world; which is now long OOP. If you get it cheap, you might enjoy it.
It's like Space Hulk is to 40k.
If I recall, it had limited replayability.

I do see the "Mutant Chronicles" in big letters, but that was really more of a Brand than a Game, like "Star Wars". You'll see the same brand name on Blood Berets and Fury of the Clansmen, as well as the various Warzone boxed sets etc.
All three of the MC boardgames came with miniatures and card template play surfaces. All had somewhat limited playability, slightly goofy miniatures, and are deader than disco.
I would without hesitation recommend Battlemasters for this sort of game. It's fast paced, simple, and looks suitably epic on the table.
For a sci-fi shooter, you're going to have trouble beating Space Hulk.
