WIP - 40k Renegade Knight Conversion

Post by MagickalMemories »

I have not decided yet what KIND of Knight it will be.
I don't know if I want to bother with magnetizing it, or simply making a decision and dealing with it.

Thoughts?

Magnetizing it is easy. Coming from a dude that magnetized 8 of them.

If you need help let me know.

Yeah. I've done some in the past... it's really a matter of whether or not I want to deal with it.
If I decide to, I just have to buy the right magnets, since I'm certain the ones I have aren't strong enough.

Made a little progress on this last night. Got the leg hoses in place, and part of the torso built. Reposing the left hose took a LOT of tie, manipulating the plastic hose into position without cutting it, then cutting and rotating the actual plug that goes into his leg by 90 degrees.

One thing I sacrificed for the cool pose was balance. If I put the torso straight up and down, it'll look like he's about to fall backwards on his ass. Instead, I'll move his center of balance forward by tilting his torso downward at a drastic angle, giving him the appearance of looking down at something. When I get the arms in place and also in a forward moving position, it should offset the perceived balance issue nicely.

Nooooooooooooo.

This is going to be a Nurgle Renegade conversion. I'm only using the cut up statue because I have a few. Not only does it look cool on the base like that, but... Who do you know that has a base like THAT ONE?

mag the armor too... the arms and weapons are an auto mag... but some times the outer plating can let you use it for so many things... This things are just too expensive to not have a few that are universal...

Also, I know a lot of 2nd party places that sell very odd chaos armor and pretty much everything else... I don't know if you saw that recent boob set for slaanesh but that is hilarious (but expensive).

My first two were magged but I the exterior armor isn't and I regret that...

Umm... as far as you know, it's a cast from a hand-sculpted replica (this the imlerfections).

...and that's all I have to say about that.
LOL

Nope. Not me. Not this.
This isn't something I make for any other reason than because I wanted to.
I have 4 more on the list of eventual conversions:
Khorne Renegade
Slaaneshi Renegade
Tzeentch Renegade

Sisters Of Battle.

SoB is next.
I have the Knight, the Exorcist bits and Penitent Engine pilot. Just need to consider whether I need the Immolator and, if needed, pick one up.

None of those will be for sale in my lifetime.

Not this guy. I don't magnetize much except the bases. I don't WANT them like that.

I've seen some of those conversion kits. While cool, they're too pricey.
Also... I don't want to just throw aftermarket bits on something and call it a day. Socializing with my friends is my main joy in this hobby. Right behind that is assembling and converting models.

I agree... with the conversions (and that most of the kits can be too expensive)... but nobody says you can't get cheaper kits from a few of the places and convert the conversion.
