The flood will be posted soon. I managed to build 2000 of marines for my brothers last month and actually painted 1/3 of the lot for Christmas for him. I failed to take pics though in the holiday frenzy so we will see if I can get pics before new year reigns in.
2000 marines or 2000 POINTS of marines?
If the former, dude, you have my admiration.
If the latter, you still do,but not as much. ;-)
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)
MY ALWAYS TRADE LIST: Scar Weaver, wmeredith, bloodstrike, tionas, wetstone, Frank Austin, akum, SW-DABOSS, Galador, nahatley, Joeb, Squeakula, mongse, con-fusion, basaint, jugglingfool, IsaiahTheBarbarian, Purple40k, Standard of War, BA-Best .

OK this is my last hurah for the year.

Brothers shiny new 40k army:

34 marines (34 points)
11 terminators (22 points)
3 tanks off rhino hull (18 points)
1 speeder (5 points)
1 dreadnaught (5 points)

Image

Auxiliary/support units for my vostroyans:

21 infantry (21 points)
4 Tarantula sentries (8 points)
1 Iron Clad Dread (5 points)
1 Custum Venator (5 points)
2 Manticores (12 points)
1 Taruex Prime (6 points)
1 Custom Gryphone Chimera (6 points)

Image

MWO Battletech:

17 light/medium/heavy mechs (17 points)
3 Assault mechs "size of terminators/Primaris" (6 points)

Image

So 84 points from marines + 63 points in auxiliary etc + 23 points in Mechs = 170 points total

I f I made anything else since my lat post I dont remember it haha. last month has been a blur with school and trying to assemble and paint as much of a 2000 point marine army as sanely possible before Christmas.

I need to catch up on some things and check the totals, but I think kturock is correct on the math. I need to start a 2018 thread, unless someone else really wants to do it.

Complexity of model vs base size. For example, I've built some models that were just glue to the base or glue 2-3 parts together first.
I've built others, that had about a dozen pieces and got the same points for them.
For example, Valkia the Bloody, a Chaos hero from GW. She's about 8-9 pieces and worth 1 point.
All of the models I've built for Shadows of Brimstone have been mostly simple; 1-3 or 4 pieces at most.

The new Necromunda models. In the box set, the Goliaths because they're on a large base are more points than the Eschers. Both have the same number of parts, and the Escher are actually harder to build, because of the smaller attachment points.

Also, all of the new Bloodbowl and Shadowspire minis are only 3-4 pieces. The new easy to build 40k models are only a few pieces.

Also, look at larger models, that have several different arms or weapons. Some of the extras are the same size or bigger than most infantry, and no points for building them.

One point per piece, with zero points for simply gluing it to a base?
So, any 1-piece monopose models are no points. The minimum point per model would be 2 points, then...
The benefit to this is that size won't be a factor. A 5 piece =I= model is the same points as a 5 piece 40k model. Would even cover fortifications, etc.

Just a thought.
