2017 Bartertown Members Assembly Challenge

Post by warlordgarou »

2nd Annual Bartertown Members Assembly Challenge!!!

This works just like the Paint Challenge: build models, gets points. There are no extra points for a model just because it was difficult to assemble, but you can get bonus points for adding LEDs or magnetizing a model. Two people need to nominate you for bonus points and also say how many points you get as a bonus. Only models fully built after January 1st 2017 can be submitted in the challenge. Members can join at any time.

And sure, I can run this one.

Here is the info on the points.
Regular infantry, 6mm inf./vehicle stands, 15mm inf. = 1pt.
Ogres, Ogrun, Trolls, terminators, Light Warjacks, 15mm Cavalry, 6mm large vehicles, defensive line = 2pts.
Cavalry, Bikers, 15mm tanks = 3pts
Heavy Warjacks, Manticores, Hellpit Abominations, Smallish Vehicles, carnifexes, 15mm Big Stuff, bastion = 5pts.
Medium Vehicle (Leman Russ, Eldar Falcon, Tau Devilfish, etc...) = 6 points
Large Vehicles (Land Raiders, Valkyries, Trygon, WM War Engines) = 8pts.
Very Large Model ( Baneblade, imperial knight, etc...)= 10pts
Really HUGE Stuff (Titan, Stompa, etc...) = case by case!

Now get building!

Updated 7/27

kturock - 260 pts
MagickalMemories - 56 pts
warlordgarou - 307 pts

In. I'm going to assemble at least 30 models this year. And paint them too. Probably.
On r/miniswap under the same name. Please be polite & answer PMs, even if all you tell me is "No thanks," or "I need more time." I expect lower rating to ship first, even if that's me, unless we work something out in advance.

Rebasing is only 50% of the process. I'd say half points but I'm just an observer.

I don't care either way on full vs. Half for rebasing - I just hope threads like this encourage us to assemble and paint.

My first entries in this years contest. I was home sick yesterday and built these models.

10 Chaos Marauder horsemen.

Image

10 @ 3 points each. 30.

I converted Chaos hero on Demonic steed. He was an old Empire general? I had on sprue, I got in a deal a couple years ago. Some parts were missing, like the horses head.
Some liquid greenstuff and some chaos parts and there he is.

Also in the pic is an old metal Shaggoth I've had sitting around for a while. i never built it because I didn't have a box to store him and the super glue gel. I know lazy, but, it was just sitting around.

He even got primered white. Ambitious for me.

Image

4 points for the hero and.. the same? for the Shaggoth? He's not that many parts or complicated to build.

38? total?

Shadows of Brimstone board game models.
First pic.
28 models.
6 tentacles.
6 winged snakes.
12 walking dead.
4 heroes.
Orc drummer included for scale.

Image

28 @ 1 point. 28 points.

Here is the monsters of the game.
3 hooked things whose name I don't recall. 2 points each. 6 points
1 large winged demon.5 points.
Orc included for scale. Then again I might need to submit another pic of the winged model. It's crouched down and its size isn't obvious.

Image

11 more points.

39 for Brimestone.

My first offering.
I was sick the 4 day MLK holiday, and worked from home on that Tuesday.
Not to mention the time i spent modeling and painting 1/1 & 1/2.
Going to have a nice little offering, once I get everything finished. For now, I'll start with these mutants:
20170117_220109.jpg
Big guy's on a 50mm (?) Privateer Press base. Not sure if he's 2 or 3 points. So, 7 or 8 points for this pic?
I had a lot of fun building these with my 9 year old, and letting her pick out the bits to use. "Daddy. Attach this blue [Genestealer] piece to the end of this [Ork] arm. That will look cool!" She's happy as pie with how it turned out, but MAN it was an experience! LOL More mutants and OOP Hybrids to come, as she's been bitten by the "build mutants" bug, and I'm letting her select arms from my bits to put on the OOP metal hybrids.

I guess I get credit here, too, although he's also been painted?
20170117_215852.jpg
So... 8 or 9 points, depending on the big mutant?
