32(309) for Spiraling and officially grabbing that second place status!
Woo! Just gotta triple my painting speed or so, to catch up with you, skuller! Any day now!

Next up, a Dark Souls Gargoyle, a bit bigger than a dreadnought, I assume that's another 5, plus a non-canon Kingdom Death character type for a total of 6 points

Not to nit-pick, but scarabs are pretty small to get 2 points... they seem much closer in scope to a 15mm infantry unit and have a pretty small amount of surface area, IIRC about that of a normal 30mm guy total?

We are giving full points for a 15mm model. for the scarabs, there are 3 on a base. So that would be 3 points each base by following that trail of logic. Ill take the extra 19 points if you want! :)

Well there is 3-4 scarabs per base per the rules for swarms. They are on 40mm bases and include basing. Looks like some OSL on the bums? Do you have a close up of the scarabs we can see?

I'm fine with whatever the group concludes with.

Ill try to get some more pics of the scarabs. I find it a little insulting at this point though, didnt think that we needed to challenge peoples legitimacy. :(

I don't think it's worth getting into a qualitative thing about paint job in the painting challenge at all- I think one could be arranged that way at some other time (there are plenty of league models that ID broad tiers of painting while still not escalating to painting competitions), but I was just mentioning that I don't think that those models look even roughly equivalent to a heavy infantry model's size... FW swarms and nurglings are kinda' large, but most bases of 3-5 tiny characters at 35mm seem equivalent instead to 6mm squads

Some not-fantastic scale shots...
marine v. scarabs (these are the same size as standard plastic, just more IIRC?)
marine vs. terminator

warrior vs. scarabs
warrior vs. terminator(sorry, only shot I could find w/ warrior... parts)

I'm not understanding how it is challenging legitimacy?

I was only asking to see the size of them (I posted at 3 in the morning in my bed so wasn't going to go hunting on Google for pictures), but Spiraling has done so with pics.

If anything, your paint job would BOOST the amount of points received from the model and counter any point discrepancy, but that's wasn't why I asked for pics. Purely for size comparison.
