2017 Bartertown Members Painting Challenge.

Post by 3eland »

Here's the new painting challenge. Every Bartertowner and staff members may participate in the challenge.

For the new guys, it's pretty simple. I'll keep track of the points in the first post but please let me know the total of point you've painted in each post.

Only models mostly painted after January 1st 2017 can be submitted in the challenge.

Here is the info on the points:

Regular infantry, 6mm inf./vehicle stands, 15mm inf. = 1pt.
Ogres, Ogrun, Trolls, terminators, Light Warjacks, 15mm Cavalry, 6mm large vehicles, defensiveline = 2pts.
Cavalry, Bikers, 15mm tanks = 3pts
Heavy Warjacks, Manticores, Hellpit Abominations, Smallish Vehicles, carnifexes, 15mm Big Stuff, bastion = 5pts.
Medium Vehicle (Leman Russ, Eldar Falcon, Tau Devilfish, etc...) = 6 points
Large Vehicles (Land Raiders, Valkyries, Trygon, WM War Engines) = 8pts.
Very Large Model ( Baneblade, imperial knight, etc...)= 10pts
Really HUGE Stuff (Titan, Stompa, etc...) = case by case

Models must be fully painted and based to count for points.

Concerning the bases, over on the LAF forum in the painting challenge, they have this:

"All figures must be mounted on finished bases, which may be textured, painted (with a pattern or in a solid, finished single colour) or consist of clear plastic (such as "flying" bases or clear acrylic/perspex shapes)."

And here are the points! If you would like to join, just post and let me know.

Btowner, good luck and paint on!

I'm in and I will not only get stuff painted but also pictures thereof uploaded this year, I swear.
On r/miniswap under the same name. Please be polite & answer PMs, even if all you tell me is "No thanks," or "I need more time." I expect lower rating to ship first, even if that's me, unless we work something out in advance.

Me too.. again. But I saw I got at least 1 point last year from AoS Sigmarites. Well the 1 test model.. I thought I finished 1.
The local GW store has a new promotion of buying, building and painting starting soon. Hopefully I can get something painted.

Congrats, Skuller- you paint like mad!

First of the new year (built last year), I got tired of Kingdom Death's berserker looking like he was waiting for his photo to be taken or something:

So, now mine looks like this:

(Starting off with 5 points)
True, we love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving. There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.

I expect honesty about models' conditions, thank you.

If I don't respond in a day or two, please check back, I've forgotten-sorry.

Nice. Is there going to be an assembly challenge this year as well? Might take some pics of stuff before I prime it - I've been assembling for several hours each day since the new year, and I need to take a break and paint something. (Firk ding blasted mantic boars with their giant gaps. . . .)

I just picked up the Shadows of Brimstone boadgame.. a lot of the minis have gaps and bad seams.. like old 80's GW.

As for painting., I have a BUuuuuNCH of minis for the new Conan boardgame.

And all of the 40k and AoS and all off those Dropfleet Commander ships, plus the ones I haven't built..

In, with an army I have painted in the last 12 hours!

An Aos Nighthaunt army (around 1900 points.) Yes zombies are not actually part of Nighthaunts, but I reflavored them as "Lost souls"

2 mournghul= 10?
10 hex wraiths= 30
6 spirit hosts = 12
3 tomb banshees 3
2 wraiths 2
30 zombies 30
For a total of 77 points!
