Looking for OOP GW paint replacements/alternatives

Post by nightlord »

I have an entire 40k chaos army painted using the OOP GW paint called "Tin Bitz". Now I want to add to the army and need more of it. As anyone knows GW paints always dry up.
So does anyone know of another paint line that makes the same color are one close to it. Also looking for these other GW colors

Rotting Flesh
Midnight Blue.
Palid Flesh

thanks Btowners

Coat d'Arms is the classic GW hex bottle line.

And wasn't Vallejo making a "Game Colour" line based on GW's?
I am always in the market for weird and wonderful GW oddbitz and ephemera. PM me if you have something old/weird/rare.

+1 on that info.

Thanks. I found that chart the following day.

Shame the Midnight Blue has been dropped. It made an awesome Dark purple when applied to black primer models. Although upon further exploration of my local Arts and craft store I found a paint line called Folk Art. They make a cool line of colors including Metalics.

Folk Art is NOT a high quality paint.
If you want to use a craft paint, go with Ceramcoat. While you will hear a lot of people tout a lot of different craft paints, Ceramcoat is the best and most consistent.

Keep in mind, if you're used to using "gaming" paints, the pigmentation in craft paints isn't as high, so your coverage won't be as good. Also, they thin with water (not thinner)... and a LITTLE water goes a VERY LONG way.
