@ MM -Just because I am a licensed Photoshop artist doesn't mean I doctored anything! And Lin had it coming, I mean who bakes with the windows open? I know nothing of what you say.

@Spiral -I am not sure if I asked this before, but is this all brush work or do you use an airbrush too?

Hehe, re: umm, questionable methods.

I have an airbrush, but am kind of terrible with it/it's a real pain to clean, so, I'm pretty sure none of that's airbrushed.

Probably my best airbrush work was this fellow

but all of the detailing was still with a brush.

Also a new mini (not related to airbrushing)- my first Alpha Legionaire, with some notes.

Very nice Spiral, question on your pale looking Daemon: How did you go about painting it?

Also, have you ever though about creating tutorials of the models you paint? Just to give people something to see, and perhaps learn from? It could just be pictures really, but something would be cool!

*cough* And if someone happened to paint albino Lizardmen, specifically the Troglodon, I wouldn't mind *cough*

It was pretty tricky- the simple version- I did a purple and grey mix for the midtones, added purple to shade, added blue to highlight.

I've gotten a few requests to do painting tutorials recently- I generally haven't had the patience to do them (normally, I'll hem and haw about a project for days while starting, until I blast through everything in a few hours when the creative spark hits), but since there's been some interest, I'll start working on them.

Remind me about the albino thing in the future- years ago I did a few lizardmen including an albino- don't have the mini any more, but I could probably figure out how I did it again.

Also, next up: sci fi scenery (sedition wars).

Lovely scenery you've got there. I still have my full set in the box. I only assembled the lights out samaritan. Everytime I see your work on them I'm tempted to start them out but there's so much to do.....

Great work and very inspiring!

Thanks! Yeah, it's been a pretty huge undertaking, but I'm almost done. Don't be too daunted, though- I'd do it in two waves: just the core, then everything else. The core covers the 9-scenario campaign, which is already plenty for quite a lot of gaming, and I prefer the preset forces to free form (the best composition tactic is spamming, which is also incredibly boring, and the load outs make it tactical instead of a meat grinder).

Thanks! it was fun/way easier to do the backwards (i.e. dark at the core), cartoony flames. I work so often on the realistic end of things that this was a nice break.
