Customary Fee for Convention Shoppers
This is the first time I've tryied to reach out to someone to do this and I was just wondering what is a customary fee for nabbing exclusives or early releases.

Re: Customary Fee for Convention Shoppers
I moved the thread to here, since this is not a question related to Bartertown.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by "customary fee?"

Lower rating? You ship first.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Ninja shopper commission, I believe, MM.
I always trade using standard Bartertown practices (i.e., traders with a lower Trader Rating ship their items first, unless other mutually agreeable terms are reached).
I always ship items using USPS, and I always ship using Delivery Confirmation. You should, too.

Re: Customary Fee for Convention Shoppers
I try to approach it like tipping. 20% of the purchase price, with a minimum of $5 if the item is cheap, is my baseline for the finders fee, especially for a "stranger" who I only know through a gaming forum. If the person is a friend, or a well known acquaintance I might offer more, or pick up a gift to compensate them for the hassle--such as a miniature or boxed set that I know they need/want for their own games.
I also cover Paypal fees as a courtesy either by including them in the price or sending the payment as a gift if I am comfortable doing so.
Hopefully that doesn't come off as cheap. I think ninja shoppers do a great service for those who can't make it to events, so I'd like to think I am compensating them appropriately!
