OK.. this is a general appeal to any and all ...
McGraw/Hill is sponsoring a contest for the cover of a new elementary school level Math Textbook. Winning entry (by votes) wins $15K in technology assistance for their school system.
As it happens, ONE of the 72 finalists nationally for the contest is Nate, (who sits next to my daughter!!!) in the 5th grade category. He created a Lego Mario for the contest...
Now, evidently, he is in second place... and could get into first place at any time.
Voting for the contest runs until November 27th, and DOES require an account on the voting site. Easy 1-2-3 to register, but it DOES require it.http://mymath.shycast.com/submission/show/2992
is the direct link to Nate's entry..
So, if you have the time, inclination, and desire to support some kid who you have never met.. my daughter would deeply appreciate you taking a few minutes to vote for her friend...
2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.
