Yeah...
About that...

Got to gaming on Saturday.
Told my buddy how cool GW was.
Tore open the plastic.
Same. Freaking. Printing.

LOL

I HAVE TWO COPIES OF THE SCREWED UP BOOK!!!!!!!

LOL

I emailed them and asked for another, but asked them to open and examine the book first. Also (again) offered to return the screwed up books (on their dime).

Updates as I get them.

GW has failed.
I don't blame GW Customer service for this, but I do blame GW.
I received an email:
Hi there Eric,

I'm sorry but I think there may have been a misunderstanding on the problem. There is a known print error on the index, and for that I very much apologize.

This does affect all copies, and while there isn't a general reprint I have provided the correct index here as a PDF you can use for correct referencing.

Additionally, by way of an apology we have issued a Virtual Gift Voucher for half the value of the book (20.00 USD) to you on order <removed by MM>. You should receive a second email with the voucher code shortly.

Again, our apologies for the misunderstanding on your issue, and there is no need to return the extra book Heidi sent you.

Should you have any other questions please let us know, and I hope you have a good afternoon.
VERY unhappy with this. I don't want a $20 credit. I want a correct book, FFS.

Having been in repeated email contact with GW Customer service (thank you, 3eland, for the images of YOUR codex). My emails and 3eland's images were forwarded to GW Corporate in the UK. I was informed tonight that he found out there was, indeed, a successful printing as well as the mangled one - he had no idea.
My rep will be requesting a few copies of the book, opening the shrinkwrap, viewing them as needed, and sending me a good one.

This one's been a bit long to resolve, but I'm a patient man, and I understand the need he had for all of the images, etc. I'm really happy with how they've handled it, so far!

It was weird that I and a few others had a copy that was legit and GW was saying there was no other copy that was legit.

Glad they sorted that out LOL

What I suspect happen is that the run op copies they sent to the US were hosed, while copies for, at least, Canada were okay. My suspicion is that there were multiple print runs, and only the US one was bad. With you being in Canadia (LOL), yours was a different print run. Same for GWUK, since that's where the ones he's getting are coming from.

LOL
Yeah. Looks like it was, apparently, all of them. I'm still not sure what unholy mutation caused 3eland to have access to one that WASN'T F*cked up.

One of the few good things on GW/FW is that they will make it right if you ask... a lot of times you can just take to the local store (assuming you are lucky enough to have one) and they will swap and just send it back to GW.

The only time I ever had a serious problem (and this might be relevant to you) was returning something multiple times... but I did like 5x or more... When they switched from metal I still need a few coffin lid shields for skeletons... and so the nightmare began... They send me these shields in resin and they were so thin that you could blow on them and they would move... time and time again... same thing... until they finally gave up.

Out of decades with them that has only ever happened once... So your odds are good.
