BTR: AnIrishGamer - Resolved by AIG

Post by Father Bloodlust » Mon Mar 14, 2016 3:35 pm

I mailed AnIrishGamer several Warmachine miniatures in mid-February and have not received payment for it yet.

I asked to be paid by money order (like I always do - I'm a bit paranoid about account security so I don't use Paypal). I should also point out that I've used money orders with every other transaction I've conducted on this site and never had any problems getting paid in a timely fashion until now. Normally it takes a week, maybe less, from the buyer receiving the package for me to get the money order, not a month. According to the tracking info on USPS' website, the package was delivered on February 13th.

I should also point out that according to my outbox, he has read the last message (the one that says I still haven't received the re-sent money order) but hasn't replied as of now.

Here's the PM record between me and AnIrishGamer:

Two things-

1) You'll likely be asked to share his address, at the very least.

2) https://www.usps.com/shop/money-orders.htm - these should be easy to review; he should be able to come in and post the serial numbers, to verify that they at least went out.

If you don't have your Location listed, take a second and update it!

-I respond within 48 hours unless utterly incapable. Please do the same. Any offer I make stands for that long as well.
-Lower rating? You ship/pay first. Same goes for me.

'How Much for...?' messages will no longer be replied to at all. I've been nice about it, now I'm done.

Fair enough. I just thought it was a good idea to err on the side of privacy for now.

Hello!

As per the rules for filing a BTR, please re-post your PM history with the appropriate headers.

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=71

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=103202

It should look similar to this:

<Message>

Forsaken is correct in that all information regarding the BTR target must be listed. It states in the rules (that everyone was supposed to read at least once) that your information may end up public if a BTR or Back-Out is filed against you ( See Rule #6: Please make sure to read the Good & Bad Trader Forum. -> the rules for a BTR/Back-Out).

You cannot edit your original post so just comment with a follow-up of the full thing.

Thanks,

That was the last PM, and like I said, he still hasn't replied even though my Outbox indicates he's read it.

I have the USPS tracking number for the package I sent: 9500 1122 8033 6040 3225 53

I just did a Google search, and I wish I'd done it sooner because apparently this isn't the first time he's screwed somebody over:

viewtopic.php?f=104&t=184627
viewtopic.php?f=103&t=183528
viewtopic.php?f=45&t=181300

In my defense, I did check the BTR forums before the trade, but the incidents posted above were from 2012 and I didn't go anywhere near that far back.

Given his history, I think it's safe to say that if he doesn't come through in a timely fashion, I will be filing charges against him for mail fraud.

He has multiple negative references, open BTRs and closed BTRs. I think that we will be examining his account status soon, if he does not make good.
I can find something for you later about a terrain company he seems to be associated with. I am on my iPad right now, so research is difficult.

This is my fault, Bloodlust and tow other traders I was talking too at the time had messages sent from me, that htey never got. It has to do with my connection, and having multiple windows open to send messages. I attempted to send three messages, I can provide the other traders names as well for verification, but they send never went through. The loading circle ont he tabs went on forever, and I'm guesing after X time passed it erased the messages when I clicked ont he tab and it reloaded. So for them my sincerest apologies.

The last messsage after asking if payment had been rendered was supposed to ask if Paypal was an option, or a wire transfer, if not I was totally ready to send th emodels back, with cash in the box to cover all shipping related tot his offer. I'm still eager to resolve this so the offer still stands, Just let me know what you'd like lboodlust and I'l get it taken care of, as well as something to mae up for the stress this hsa caused you. Thank you.

Your connection has nothing to do with whether or not a money order got sent.

And no, paypal is not an option for the reasons I mentioned above. A money order should not be a big deal to send - you can get them from Wal-Mart for frak's sake.

Father B,

AIG knows me well enough that he will vouch; I don't pull punches and I tell it like it is. Hell, just about any regular on this site will tell you that.
Aside from his trade issues, I have ZERO problems with AIG. He as always been an otherwise decent guy, and has a pleasant personality. Even with my overall positive view of him, though, I posted the information above about him, though. Right?
So, you're probably wondering what my point it. My point is that I say what I believe, regardless of the audience or subject matter.

So, with that in mind, you do need to keep a couple things in mind here.
First is that he showed up. He is here and says he wants to handle it. A large number of BTR issues do NOT go that way. As shown above, even AIG has an imperfect record where that is concerned.
Second is that he is taking ownership of the issue, he is putting blame squarely on himself.
Third is -and you can be excused for not knowing this, as you are relatively new (NO slight intended)- what he is saying about the messages is true. It happens. For whatever reason, PHPbb Private Messages hang up. You will often see it happen when first trying to get into your inbox, especially when you are doing it in a separate tab, and when sending them...again, especially if you have multiple tabs open. And the software will NOT tell you if it failed, typically. You just have to know to check it when you get a delay in sending it (which, admittedly, AIG should've known, with as long as he has been here).

Give him a little credit for showing up, taking ownership, and offering to make good. Like I tell my kids; trust, but verify. He says he wants to make it right. Give him that chance.

AIG, if you can send PayPal, a wire transfer or cash in the box, there shouldn't be anything to keep you from being able to send a money order. Right?

Okay, well here's where I'm coming from on this:

I feel like I've been scammed. That pisses me off; hence, I showed up in this thread ready for a fight and responded as seen above. I know he offered to make things right; he offered the same thing two weeks ago and nothing came of it. So why should I automatically assume he's trustworthy now? I'm tempted to say I'm not a trusting person, but that's (unfortunately) not true; the fact that I'm making transactions with total strangers on this site proves that. I DO NOT, however, like that trust proving misplaced, and so far in my dealings with him he's given me no reason to trust him at his word.

That said, I know the only way this is going to get resolved to my satisfaction is to just wait for him to do something and then for the USPS to do its work, and while that's frustrating as hell since waiting is ALL I've been doing with regards to this transaction, it's the only way forward at this point. So I'll do that, because it's all I CAN do at this point.

Sorry as hell for the stress of this man, you tell me what you'd like to be made whole here. as far as scamming, promise that isn't the thing of it. Our total was like fifteen bucks. I don't want ot just make good on that, but make good to you sir. I'll have off tomorrow and personally attend to this. I will also include a penalty fee of sorts, extra ten bucks on top of the original agreed price to show that I do mean to make good on this, and have. I know this looks bad, but if you'll look at the latest references I've also completed 4-5 other deals while we've had ours working. For substantially more, I say this just to point out I'm not in the habit here of flaking on payment. Screwed up a while back, been making good since. I'll do it even easier-

<staff edit>: My personal cell number. IF you want to get a hold of me personally to tell me anything, or any of the mods that would want to address this. Not trying to hide from anything nor scam anyone. So hereby do I give permission to anyone that feels the need or desire to personally communicate anything with me over this matter.

15+10 for your stress and time make this a better end for you sir?

Yeah, no problem with that. Had been shipped once already, no DC or anything and my trade partner says he never received it. Strange, but hey it's happened to several of us before so I can believe it. As I said, it's only fifteen bucks so I'm more than happy to send again, with DC and I'll even take a picture of the thing and post it here. I'll cop to a bit more fault here, I've had pretty decent luck with money orders on here, so I fell out of the habit of getting Delivery Confirmation on them. That too is my bad. But hey, as I've said, let me not just even the trade out, but turn a negative impression into a positive one and I'll be glad to do it. Look for this to be resolved by 4-5 PM Central Texas time tommorrow gents. Bloodlust, let me know if there's anything else I can do to make this good for you. Hell I don't remember if you were looking for other Warmahordes stuff but if so, let me know what and if you want ot skip the middle man I'll just order you something you need to you and cover shipping and whatever else into the deal.
