what people need to do is keep all of thier emails and pms, and when they get accused of mis intrepretation then they can foreward the info to said person and tell them they were tolf of condition, i got a neutral for some of this same crap. not as bad as a negative but about the same.
and maybe by keeping all of the info and when they contradict themselves on thier trade refs, you might be able to get the reference purged. proof always helps.

I would also like to bring up an individual whom I dealt with on a different site (which is now no longer operational) that people should watch for.
This deal went sour in a hurry and it required me to actually get the police involved in order to recieve approximately 30% of what I was promised, on top of that, 90% of the stuff was broken and useless.
I could probably dredge up the old contact info if someone PMs me for info, but I'm not gonna post it all here again. It's my word only considering he hasn't (to my knowledge) been on BT.
This message is a Neighbourhood Watch bulletin, be wary that's all

Can we officially place Steve Jones and all his email addresses on this now? I can't believe how often this guys is scamming people. Thank you and best wishes,

I have never lived in Williston, Fl. I think someone used my name on the bartertown forums. I know a few people that might have done it. I am sorry to whoever it happened to and if they would like to write me with what they lost I might be able to help them out. Thank you.

where do you actually live? or your name even, your profile shows nothing
is it the negative reference your referring to?

Ok I know this can just be random chance, but your name is Chris Griffin. Like Family Guy a lot huh? I find it hard to beleive someone hijacked your account. This only happens if you are smart enough to give someone your password. Besides if someone did hijack your account, he/she would have done more damage than just a bad reference. I would guess that person would spread godaweful threads to get it banned.
Please provide the following:
Address of the person who gave you the bad reference.
Ask the buyer what address he was asked to send the package to.
Show some kind of solid proof that address does not match your own.

Well, if you gave someone your password, you are responsible.
I had that happen to me before.
Someone gave their password to a friend (allegedly) and the friend screwed me on a trade, then left 2 or 3 retaliatory bad references.
Both were held equally responsible be admin.

MM is correct. Also, you can be held accountable for emails that come from your account regardless of who actually wrote them.
I know a lot of people are convinced that none of their friends would ever take advantage of their trust and screw them over, but...
It happens. It's a LOT of trouble to get cleared out. If something comes from your account, YOU will be held liable.
Give out your password at your own risk. The consequences are on your head.
